High Water Bill? You might have an undetected water leak

June 7th, 2010 · No Comments · by

I can’t tell you how many times our plumbers in Toronto get calls from people with astronomical water bills. One of the simplest and quickest ways to ensure everything is as it should be is through a visual inspection.

When no water is being used take a look at the metre reading (make sure to note it, whether mentally or by writing it down). Wait 7-10 hours and then check it again. If the metre has moved, there is a good possibility that there is an undetected leak in the home. Do you have an unusual increase in the price of your water bill but cant find a leak? Don’t hesitate to call a plumber in your area to take a look. For more tips, join us on Facebook and submit your plumbing or drain question.
